Description
The disposable syringe (without needle) is a single-use, hollow cylindrical tube with a tip that can receive or expel fluid.

The tip of the syringe provides:

  • The point of attachment of a needle
  • connection to another device to administer and/or withdraw (aspirate) fluids/drugs;
  • it may also be used for fluid/drug preparation;
  • connection to a non-invasive device;
  • for irrigation.

The volume of solution inside a syringe is indicated by graduation lines on the barrel. Graduation lines may be in milliliters or fractions of a milliliter, depending on the capacity of the syringe.

Force applied on the plunger and piston moves the piston down the barrel reducing the volume of the barrel below the seal expelling fluid. tubular

Intended Use

The disposable syringe is intended to be used (depending on the syringe tip)

  • in conjunction with hypodermic needles, and infusion/transfusion sets to inject fluids into, or withdraw fluids from, the body.
  • connection to another device to administer and/or withdraw (aspirate) fluids/drugs;
  • it may also be used for fluid/drug preparation;
  • in connection to a non-invasive device;
  • for irrigation.

Indications for Use/Target Users

  • Disposable Syringes are equipped with a Luer Slip or Luer Lock connector that can be used in conjunction with hypodermic needles and infusion/transfusion sets.
  • The device is designed for use by a qualified physician or clinician
  • There is no particular intended patient population for the use of disposable syringes.

Contraindications

There are no recognized contraindications for the use of Disposable Syringes.

Sterility

Disposable Syringes are sterilized by EO gas sterilization (indicated by ) single use only.
Do not re-use, Do not re-sterilize. Inspect each package prior to use. Do not use the device if any seal or cavity is damaged or breached or if the expiration date has been exceeded. Once opened, the device must be used or discarded.

The 10-mL Curved Tip Syringe (Item 26267):

  •  is offered in a bulk, non-sterile configuration.
  • Sterile barrier and endotoxin limits are not applicable.

Operating Instructions

  1. Separate at upper package edge and peel apart to point below the hub.
  2. If using with a needle, affix and tighten the syringe or female luer to the needle using aseptic technique. Grip the base of the needle and turn the syringe or luer clockwise.
  3. Pull back on the plunger to fill the syringe with fluid according to established technique.
  4. Push down on the plunger to express the fluid according to the procedure.
  5. If used with a needle, remove the needle cap and perform the procedure according to established technique.
  6. After the procedure, discard of the syringe (and needle) in a biohazard container according to local safety standards.

Storage

  • Store at room temperature 15°C-25°C.
  • Do not store in high temperatures and humidity.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight.
  • Keep away from rain.
  • Store in a cool and dry place.
